How a Portfolio Home works

Our process is simple

We’re not a typical custom home builder. You get all of the benefits of luxury home design without the hassle.

  1. Acquire

We buy a lot or an older home in one of Cincinnati’s best neighborhoods.

  2. Design

We design the best home for that lot, then curate its finishes on a Selection Board.

  3. Build

We build what we designed, so we control the timeline, the costs and the changes.

  4. Sell

We sell it move-in ready, backed by a home builder warranty.

Buying during construction? You may be able to personalize certain selections, depending on the stage.

Our story

A family tradition since 1982

It started in 1982, when Michele and Greg Stanley bought their first lot on Cincinnati’s west side. Michele built the family’s homes herself, and their son Matt grew up on her job sites.

Today Matt owns the company, rebranded as Legendary Homes in 2021. His mom still helps with the interior designs, and still teases him for calling colonials “coloniums” as a boy.

“I became obsessed with bringing the experience of being on vacation into people’s homes… so homebuyers can experience it without going anywhere.”
